Here's our beautiful lady fighter.
Always ready for a challenge.
Featuring: Daphne "Pepertiel" Chow
My dad placed an Atari 2600 controller into my little hands when I was a toddler and that was it, I was hooked. Then it was the first-gen Nintendo and the Sega Mega Drive. So yes, I started young. We used to have inter-family tournaments between ourselves every weekend when homework and school are done, so games were pretty much a part of our lives in the form of a family bonding activity. Yeah definitely! My dad was pretty hardcore until things got busy for him at work so he only plays DOA with me for fun when he's in town or I'm back home visiting. Both my cousins are into competitive gaming. Yup, we are originally from Singapore but my family moved to Western Australia when I was 13. They still live there while I came back to Singapore to work and reside a few years back. I graduated from Uni and decided it was time for another change, so it's back to Singapore for career prospects. Yup true. But somehow I never strayed far from gaming. Played casually with friends while in Australia..... then in Singapore, I met Phenic who has always been a gaming fanatic. I also met gamers-turned-friends at competitions and was in a team. At my previous workplace, we played on lan some nights after overtime. There were always opportunities to play with someone I know! Admittedly, I play casually and not hardcore. But I'm now getting a full dose of gaming, by being in Sword. We met through work. I joined a company where he was helping out at, and we organized the first ever large-scale international gaming tournament in Singapore. Haha, it goes to see, games are never far from me. Sword member, how that have change the life for both of you
I would say it feels different? Cause I'm so used to traveling to his competitions where ever they are and usually the cheerleader and supporter. And Phenic has never really seen the competitive side to me (maybe I become scary and mean, I dunno). Now that we both compete, it's really much easier to understand one another and what we go through, including all the stress, the lows, the excitement and the thrills. It doesn't feel so lonely. We stick together and it's just another something that keeps the relationship new. Family and friends nicknamed us "Chip & Dale" because we always bicker (and I suppose we sound like the two chipmunk brothers when we do *mutter*). We are very different from each other in the first place so I would say no, no friction. That's just how we are usually - we express our differing opinions very freely to one another *ahems*. A balanced lifestyle is the way to go so yes I most definitely do loads of other stuff. I adore animals especially rabbits, so I’m a volunteer of the House Rabbit Society of Singapore (www.hrss.net), a non-profit organisation dedicated to rabbit welfare and awareness (hey, be kind to animals!). I make it a point to make time for my family of rabbits and guinea pigs. I’m an avid shopper, online and off. Regular stuff and hobbies I guess. Life has certainly gotten alot more busier since and there are priorities I have to place higher than anything else. I try my best to keep at it because these are the things I love doing but of course, training is a must. A contradiction. Oh and I'm always for the new. Like trying new things, visiting new places....... somehow that always seem to baffle family and friends because they never know what I'm on to next. Jetting away to some random new country or city will be my idea of relaxation and a great get-away from everything, but yet, nothing will relax me more giving gentle massage to my big bunny on my lap. Hence, the contradiction. Oh ya, to the extent everyone always gives me bunny related presents coz they know they'll never go wrong *lol*. My first 2 rabbits were abandoned at some apartments and a friend found them but sent them to our local SPCA before I decided I was gonna take them in. I picked them up and less than 3 weeks later, Bugs gave birth to 4 kits though I kept the couple separate. One of my little bunnies was born without ears and in desperation, I sought help from HRSS to save Xavier. I was inspired by this rabbit family to spread the message on rabbit welfare and responsible pet ownership in Singapore, so i joined HRSS as a volunteer and then became a committee member, as we all share this same hope to make a difference. A little love goes a long way! Thank you for your time! I hope I won't be remembered for being rabid rabbit loving or a wacky animal activist. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported us, online as well as being there at the studio cheering us on. It has been a dream run, being part of Singapore Sword and CGS. It was phenomenal to see such a huge crowd behind us. I really appreciate all the well-wishes that you have all given me and I will definitely come back stronger this new season.
Wow, so are your family members consider gamers too?
You mentioned "back home visiting", so now are your family members living away from you?
What brought you back home to Singapore then?
When you moved back to Singapore, I am sure it becomes harder for usual family game gathering sessions right? So how do you get your gaming fix?
So how did you and Phenic started? Was it because of gaming or that come later after you both are together?
Wow, it's game that brought you both together, I guess many out there are sure envy of you both. Now you both are
But since now in private and work you all see each other more, were there any incident of frictions because of this?
Let's move away from gaming. Before CGS came into your life what were you usually busy with?
So now do you still continue to do those stuffs? Or has full time gaming take up all of the time to do those things?
So in private what kind of person are you? What do you like to do to relax from all the stress?
You have mentioned about the bunnies twice and they seems to be big part of your life. Could you share with us about them and HRSS?
Thanks for the interview today, I am sure our visitors and your fans learn a little more about your private side that they do not get to know about or see. So anything to say to Sword's support and your fans out there?
