I was sort of semi professional when I first started in 2005. Winning 3rd in a local DOAU tournament with my first try. I proceeded to participate in various local DOAU tournaments and met with success. Following that I did well for WCG 2005 gaining the first silver medal for Singapore. That pretty much brought me to where I am now. I did my own training sessions by flying overseas and on xbox live. I was glad it was finally over when I lost in the final match. Especially against such an amazing opponent who loves the game just as much as I do. I didnt expect myself to do so well in my first world tournament. Katsuninken got the first champion in 2005. He did however met with failure on 2007. Notably to Mamba and Offbeat in his bracket. This has been debated alot. I really liked the way female gamers are given a chance to be recognized and hone their skills in a competitive environment. Female gamers right now are mostly weaker than male counterparts. But most of the issues lie with the females do not have as much experience and opportunities as male do. More practice. Don't be shy about going to tournaments to compete. Alot of Region 1 players are doing that right now. Hands down to Vanessa, Kasumi Chan, Mystic, etc. Actually, no. I am close to most of the players really. Its just that my teammates like to tease me alot. Oh well. Because I am such a nice guy *oops*. I help most of the players get better, if possible. Besides Liefje there were other players like Sarafan, Berzerk, Tactical, Miss, Neji, and lots more who came to my room to practice. It is much easier to practice 1 on 1 in my own apartment as compared to the training rooms when alot of franchise practice matches are taking place. It is always good to hone your skills with other players. There inst many ways to get better besides playing with other fellow pro gamers. Although part of it is due to the fact that I enjoyed playing with them! It depends. Everyone is busy with their own stuffs like I was busy with working just until last month. When we have meetings we usually meet up together instead of hanging out with just 1 or 2 of them. I am not so prepared yet. But I will be flying off to Japan as soon as the qualifiers are over. This is so that I can get sufficient practice before Pan Asian There isnt secret training. I blogged on this several days ago. I will be seeing sakura blooming festival for the first time in my life ^^ I am excited just not as excited as before though. I will be staying in Tokyo. This will be the 5th time for me to fly to Tokyo.
Do you remember when exactly, did you turn professional and what spurs you to decide to go down that path?
What was the feeling at the moment when you won that first big haul, the WCG 2005 World Final's Silver Medal for DOA?
Who was that worthy opponent that time?
As female gamers have mostly been neglected for a long time, however CGS is really great to have female division for DOA, so what's your opinion on it?
So what advice you can give for our female counterpart in order to improve the current situation?
Talking about female DOA gamers, many assumed you and lifjie are pretty close, are there something special between both of you? Hehee!!
So how did that started, where they got those inspiration from?
So during the upcoming CGS events will you continuing to have such training sessions, or this time round you have new training methods?
So outside of gaming do you interact with your fellow training mates? Who are the ones you usually hang out with?
Upcoming we all know the qualifier is most probably coming soon, then there is also the Asian Finals, how prepared are you?
Wow, what the trip to japan for? Secret training?
Ahh, are you excited? Which city in Japan you will be?
Ok, thank you for the interview. All the best to you for the upcoming competitions.
