At 3D.NY camp, they have done a feature on their Fifa player, Matt “Wizakor” Wood is the "Best FIFA 07 Player" title during his tourney outing at CGS 07 World Finals. If you want to know some quick updates on what he went through last year and what is going on for him this year. Make a Jump to the full article.
Quoted from 3D.NY's team site,
"Hi, my name is Matt “Wizakor” Wood and I’m the FIFA 07 player for 3D.NY. I recently competed in the Championship Gaming Series World Finals and won the title as the best FIFA 07 player worldwide in the CGS. I honestly don’t feel the title has really sunk in, but now I feel that next year everyone will be gunning for me and I’m going to have to train even harder to stay on top. The pressure will definitely be on me next season, but I’m no stranger to pressure. I definitely felt I had a lot to live up to after taking 1st Place at the CGS Combine and maintaining a top two placing throughout the CGS regular season. I really try not to think about the pressure and just try to show up and play my best every game."
The Magnetik also did a feature on their DOA player, Aissani "Neji" Méziane. He gave you a look at how he stared with CGS to what have happened along the way to World Finals during 2007. Make a Jump to the full interview at Magnetik's team site.
Quoted from Magnetik's team site,
"Back in September you were drafted as the male Dead or Alive 4 player for the Stockholm Magnetik team, now 3 months on how does it feel?
Actually I can't believe what happened to me, First I couldn't come because as I thought the Draft was going to be in August, and I was still working. When I heard it was in September, I said to myself that I couldn't miss this opportunity, at least it would be a fun holidays and a break between my summer job and my studies. Also, a new flight line between Lyon and Birmingham had been created in September, it was like destiny that called me. When I heard Redeye saying my name after the Draft, I was in another world, and I haven't left it since, it's just like a dream, being paid and appreciated for playing my favorite game ever, pro-gaming is the coolest thing that happened to my life!"
Seoul Jinhwa has a very interesting interview with their very own DOA make player, YongHyeon "sarafan" Baek. As you know, most Asian gamers are sometimes elusive, so this interview is a great chance to learn more Asian's pro gamer. Read about him in the full interview on Jinhwa's team site. Top part of the interview is in Korean, but they are nice enough to include the English translation of it at the bottom. So don't miss this great interview.
Quoted from Jinhwa's team site,
"I was originally aiming to become a professional gamer for Counter-Strike. After a while I realized that it was not working out so I decided to play games for leisure and went to buy a Xbox360. When I was buying the Xbox360, I asked the clerk to recommend a good game and he showed me DoA4. I have never played 1vs1 fighting game but I decided to try it out since it was recommended. Once I started playing, I was hooked."
Looking Back
Finally, here is a look back by Samantha "Ricochet" Whale, female DOA player for the Slavo. All you want to know about how miss "Ricochet" felt and experienced for CGS last year are all written in the article featuring her memories for 2007.
Quoted from Slavo's team site,
"The World Finals in LA. Now this was insane. The stage was so much larger than the UK Championships and it really brought home what we were playing for; ourselves, our team, our friends and family back home, and our country, it was such a dream come true.
The media training was good and very informative. Some entertaining and very good interviews too! I beat Tactical at rock paper and scissors so didn't have to do one. Our team practiced hard, relaxed with everyone, supported each other and enjoyed ourselves. Placing 3rd/4th I thought was good and I was happy to be a lot less nervous on stage at the end of it all. We've all gained experience and had a memorable time that we won't forget."
So that's all for today's installment of "Wassup Neighbors?", stayed tune for more installment of this new feature. Enjoy!!
